ATM® (Awareness Through Movement) Feldenkrais® Classes

These classes are designed for you to explore your habits and patterns. Increase your flexibility, find more mobility, discover greater ease and find a clearer, more organized and efficient way of movement in your activities and everyday life. Come discover your potential.

Foundations

This style of class is all about breaking it all down and exploring the foundations of your yoga practice. It will help lead you in the direction of finding a place where each posture can be performed in a more efficient, effective manor. Time is taken to explore the importance of alignment and the effect of the breath has on the body and mind. Great for beginners who have no idea, or those with experience who want to slow it down and explore.

Hatha

With the holding of postures the practice becomes more meditative, and the true essence of each yoga pose can be explored. There is usually a focus in each lesson, exploring different postures to lengthen, release and open different areas of the body. The importants of the breath is emphasized, as the state of the breath reflects the state of the body and mind.

Restorative

Restorative yoga is all about relaxing providing the opportunity to renew and heal. The poses are held for 3-5 minutes at a time, and through the support of bolsters, blocks and blankets your body can surrender, releasing any unnecessary gripping or tension that you may be holding onto. Described as yoga for the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, it helps to enhance respiration and quiet the "flight or fight" response that is all too prevalent in our lives, thereby relieving the symptoms of stress. Perfect for all levels.

Vinyasa/Flow

A faster, flowing practice where there is the sensation of moving with the breath. These classes tend to be quite playful as you flow in and out of various postures, challenging your strength, flexibility, and awareness. As awareness, flexibility and strength increases, less focus is required on how to move from one posture to the next. A feeling of fluidity and a sense of the self becomes more apparent. It's all about surrendering to the flow of it all.

YHot

This practice follows a specific sequence of postures. The room is heated to approximately 40°C to facilitate safe, deep stretching, a detoxifying sweat and a healthy glow. Standing and seated postures included. This class is recommended to beginners and suitable for all levels of students. **Not recommended for pregnant women unless you have been practicing in a heated environment regularly for at least 6-12 months prior to becoming pregnant.
